RJW Logistics was founded by Ron WIlliamson back in 1981. With a double major in Transportation Management and Business Administration, Ron graduated from Elmhurst College and gained experience as a Transportation Manager for over 18 years for a number of companies, including Continental Can Company, Ozite Corp, American Colloid Co, and Fearn Food, a Kellogg's subsidiary.

With that background and with an entrepreneurial spirit, Ron decided to start his own logistics company. Congress de-regulated the transportation industry back in 1980. Logistics licenses were much easier to obtain under deregulation, and so he applied and received what then was called "an ICC License" to broker freight anywhere within the United States.

With only $12000 in the bank, 4 small children and a wife as a stay-at-home mom (who wouldn't with 4 kids, ages 5, 7, 9 and 11!!), Ron began the incredibly arduous task of building a business from scratch. Those early years often involved 12 to 16 hour work days---but the passion to succeed, and provide a livable income for his young family, made the effort worth it. Both Ron and his wife Jean are strong believers in God, and they prayed early and often for their fledgling business.

With the help of wonderful team members who came along over the years, RJW Logistics Inc established itself as a growing, innovative company. The logistics business flourished, both in the Chicago market where RJW is based, but also nationwide. Then, in 1990, because of the synergies that being an asset based carrier provides, Ron established RJW Transport Inc as a contract carrier. Today, it boasts a combination of over 300 tractors and trailers combined to meet the needs of shippers all over the country. With our staff of over 50 in the office providing customer friendly services to our clients, RJW is poised for ever greater growth.

To better serve you, our customer, RJW has invested heavily in technology in recent years. A new, state of the art TMW Software system was recently installed, as well as a new imaging system. We continue to buy new tractors and trailers on an ongoing basis to meet customer demand. A brand new marketing campaign that is unique in its approach for the transportation industry has been launched. New staff positions have been filled to provide even better customer service support for you, our valued customer.
